Hudson Mills is Dexter's other front porch — the Border-to-Border Trail threading the river bottom, cyclists out by eight on a Saturday, the grass wet until nine. By January that same ground is somebody's route to work at six in the morning, and the trucks go out to plow, shovel and treat ice before it sets.
