Every few winters a storm crosses the lakes that nobody argues with — a foot on the ground, the wind still working, drifts rebuilding a driveway an hour after it was cleared. Extreme Snow Plowing is built for those days: trucks running, shovels for the steps and walkways, salt for everything a blade cannot reach. Out on the long spoke avenues the wind gets a running start, so the second pass matters as much as the first. There is a plain kind of pride in coming back at four in the morning to reopen a drive that filled in behind you. When the storm finally lets go, the routes stand clear behind it.
