About Fountain Excavating & Truck

When the Soo Locks close for the winter, the freighters stop passing De Tour Village and the river falls into a long white silence. Fountain Excavating & Truck handles snow removal through those months, pushing back the drifts that the wind off Lake Huron lays across driveways and lanes. Dark comes early at the eastern tip of the Upper Peninsula, and a night of blowing snow can bury a lane to the fender. By morning the result shows from the road: drives opened down to hard ground, banks heaped tall along the lane, the path to the door opened before anyone has to ask.
