About Friendly City Services

Out in Constantine township the roads run straight to the horizon and meet at crossroads marked by a mailbox and a barn. Friendly City Services mows the yards strung along them — the deep farm lawns that take an hour, the tucked-in ranch lots that take fifteen minutes — and trims the edges where turf gives way to gravel. Late afternoon is the best of it: dust hanging in the light, the smell of cut grass, one more property looking squared away before supper. Spring and fall bring the heavier work of clearing off whatever the wind and the winter left behind. It is neighborly work, done the way you would do your own.
