About Hawkins Outdoor Services

First cut of May, and the grass around Lower Straits Lake is still wet to the ankle at eight in the morning. Hawkins Outdoor Services waits out the dew, then goes — mowing, edging, trimming, hauling off what winter left in the beds. Commerce Charter Township wakes up all at once in spring, the lakes losing their gray, the maples going that impossible green, and a lawn brought back into shape belongs to that same reawakening. Week by week through the season the work repeats, and each time the yard comes back a little more like itself. Outdoor work done with care outdoors, in a township that lives half its life outside.
