Everything in this corner of Genesee County answers to the same three digits, and EIGHT-1-MOW put them straight into the name. The work behind it is mowing, trimming and edging Clio yards through the green season, cleanups when the leaves let go, and plowing, shoveling and salting once the fields go white. Mid-July out here is heat shimmer over the pavement and grass that needs cutting twice a week whether anyone feels like it or not. Winter is the opposite sort of hurry — a phone call at four in the morning and a driveway open before anybody needs to leave. Both are the same promise, made in very different weather.
