Wayside Lawn Service

About Wayside Lawn Service

Late afternoon in Clinton Township, the light comes in low over Gratiot and lays itself down the length of every front yard. That is often when Wayside Lawn Service is still out — mowing, running the trimmer along fence lines, cutting the walks so the concrete shows a clean gray line against the green. August storms build to the west over Macomb County and arrive in a hurry, so the trick is reading the sky and finishing the block before it opens. Grass comes on fast in this flat corner of the county, which makes the rhythm weekly and steady, one street after the next. By November the leaf cleanups take over and the yards get put to bed tidy. A well-kept lawn on an ordinary township street is a small thing, and it changes how the whole block reads.
