About Turf Services

Climax took its name and its ground from prairie — open country east of Kalamazoo where the grass once ran ahead of the settlers, and a remnant of it still stands and still moves when the wind comes through. Turf Services works the modern version of the same thing: lawns mowed to an even height, edges trimmed sharp along walks and drives, beds cleared so a yard has a shape you can read from the road. Spring cleanups clear the winter's scatter and get the season underway; fall cleanups take the leaves down and put the grass to rest. On these flat Kalamazoo County lots a clean line does a lot of work — it is the whole difference between mowed and cared for. Week after week, that is the job around Climax and out along the farm roads toward Scotts.
