BC Maintenance

About BC Maintenance

The snow that reaches Cherry Grove has crossed a lot of open ground to get here, and it arrives in long grey bands that shut down the horizon by mid-afternoon. BC Maintenance runs against those bands — blade down before the drifts set up, driveways opened to bare pavement, walkways cut through to the door. Salt goes on the shaded aprons where meltwater sneaks back after dark and turns to glass by morning. The work is measured in small mercies: a car that backs out without a shovel, a mail carrier who does not have to wade, a Saturday that starts on time. When the sky finally clears over the fields and the plow lines stand up blue in the shadow, the whole township looks put back together.
