About A & D Outdoor Services

The Thornapple River takes its time through Cascade Charter Township, looping under the bridges in slow green bends while the land above it rolls off toward Grand Rapids. A & D Outdoor Services keeps lawns on that rolling ground — mowing with the contour, trimming close along the beds, edging until a walk reads like a drawn line. When the wind swings around and the first plowable inch arrives, the same trucks head back out for driveways and lots, working while the airport traffic overhead is still just a red light in the dark. There is a particular satisfaction in a yard that looks composed on a hot July evening, and in a driveway opened wide by six the next January morning. Outdoor work, for a township that spends a great deal of its time outdoors.
