About Brutus Construction

Winter arrives in Calumet Charter Township the way it always has — off Lake Superior, sideways, and by the foot rather than the inch. Brutus Construction runs its plow routes along the US-41 corridor while the rest of the Copper Country is still asleep, pushing banks back to the snow stakes so the road home stays a road. Driveways get opened wide, turnarounds squared off, and the paths people walk get shoveled and treated against the ice that follows any thaw. There is a particular satisfaction in a yard that looks untouched by a storm that dropped eighteen inches overnight. When the sky goes flat pewter and the flakes start coming in on the wind, that's their hour.
