Harder & Warner Landscapes and Boutique Gardens

About Harder & Warner Landscapes and Boutique Gardens

There is a stretch of May in Caledonia when the beds are open and dark and everything is possible, before the heat and after the last frost has finally let go. Harder & Warner Landscapes and Boutique Gardens works that window closely, shaping planting beds, cutting crisp bed lines against the turf, and keeping the lawns around them mowed and edged so the garden has something tidy to sit in. Kent County's rolling ground gives a property grade and shadow to play with, and a planting that suits the slope looks right for years. Through the winter the crew turns to plowing drives and clearing walkways, salting the places where the melt refreezes overnight. It is one long conversation with a piece of ground, carried on in whatever the season allows.
