About Bruce Helsel Tree Farm

Cadillac keeps two lakes at its elbow and a canal between them, and the light coming off that water in July makes every yard in town look greener than it has any right to. Sandy northern ground drains fast up here, so a lawn is a thing you tend rather than a thing that simply happens. Bruce Helsel Tree Farm takes on lawn work around Wexford County — mowing on a steady rotation, trimming and edging, cleanups in spring and again when the maples turn along the shoreline. The finish is what sells it: uniform height, a straight edge at the walk, clippings off the drive before the truck pulls out. It is plain work, and it makes a place look cared for from the street.
