About JL Land Services

Wind has nothing to stop it out on the open ground of Bruce Township, so snow here does not so much fall as travel. JL Land Services runs the two-in-the-morning shift, pushing drives and walkways clear while the drifts are still rebuilding themselves across the section roads. A plow route up here is really a map of where the wind bends — the fencerow gap, the hollow past the orchard, the corner that always fills first. Getting it open before first light is the entire idea, and there is little to match the sight of black pavement under a headlamp. The north edge of Macomb County is a good place to be awake early.
