About GB Lawn Care Service

Four in the morning on a cottage road out toward Croton Pond: headlights full of falling snow, blade down, the two-track opening a foot at a time. GB Lawn Care Service takes on both ends of the Brooks Township year — plowing and shoveling through winter, with sand or salt where a grade turns slick, then mowing and trimming once the frost is out and the grass gets moving. Seasonal drives that sit unused for months still have to be passable the morning somebody comes up from downstate. By July the same truck is hauling a mower deck through the same gate. Getting there first, before the day starts, is most of the job.
