On a clear December night the snow out past Young State Park takes the moon and hands it straight back, while Lake Charlevoix lies black and steaming beyond it. Ryan's Landscaping is out on nights like that with the blade down — driveways cut open, walks shoveled, parking areas pushed to bare pavement before morning. In summer those same properties get the weekly cut, the trim along beach-road fences, and the mulch and bed edges that hold a yard together. Boyne City spends half its year as a lake town and half as a snow town, and the work simply follows. A cleared drive at dawn and a straight-cut lawn in July are the same pride wearing different clothes.
