About HOAGLUND SERVICES

February on the country roads between Boyne City and Boyne Falls is a tunnel of white banks with the ski hill glowing somewhere off to the south. HOAGLUND SERVICES runs that ground at night — plowing driveways long enough to lose sight of the house, shoveling walks, opening lots before the first car turns in. Snow up here does not so much fall as gather quietly for days, which means going back and going back until it finally stops. When the thaw arrives there is sand to sweep, grass to rake open, and the whole mowing season waiting behind it. The same properties, both halves of the year.
