On a Saturday morning the lakefront at Veterans Park fills with tents and tomatoes, and half of Boyne City walks past a lawn somebody cut on Friday. Boyne Area Lawn Care keeps those Friday appointments — mowing, trimming, blowing the clippings off the sidewalk so the walk stays clean for the crowd. Yards in town sit small and close together, which makes edges matter far more than acreage. Each spring there is raking to do, matted grass to open up and beds to clear so the season can start honestly. It is a route, and the payoff is a street that looks looked-after from one end to the other.
