About JICO Services

In Bohemia Township, far out in the western Upper Peninsula, June daylight seems to run on forever, the sun hanging over the woods well past nine. JICO Services mows and trims lawns in this quiet stretch of Ontonagon County, where yards are carved out of the forest and the grass makes up for a late spring by growing in a rush. A tidy lawn up here is a clearing in the old sense: open ground claimed from the trees, kept bright and walkable. The strip along the gravel drive, the patch around the mailbox and the slope behind the shed each take their turn under the blades. When the long light finally fades, the cut grass smells sweet as the evening cools.
