Out on the sandy plains of Boardman Township the snow does not fall so much as travel, drifting across open ground and rebuilding overnight wherever a driveway cuts the wind. K & W Excavation and Asphalt takes that on with the plow — clearing drives and parking areas, breaking down hardpacked drifts, and stacking snow downwind so the next blow has somewhere to go. Ice control goes down on the approaches and on the walks where boots land. Storms come one behind another off the northwest here, and the route runs through the night until the last drive is open. Nothing fancy about it; the measure is whether the road end is open when it is time to leave.
