About DeLong Landscaping

At four in the morning in January, Adams Road is a tunnel of orange light and blowing snow, and the plows are already out in it. DeLong Landscaping runs snow removal on Birmingham drives, walks and lots through those hours — pushing, shoveling, salting — so the first person out the door at seven finds nothing but pavement. A clipper can drop three inches between the late news and the alarm clock, and the work is timed to exactly that. Come April the same properties turn over to mowing, trimming, edging and spring cleanup, and the trucks trade blades for mowers. Two different jobs on the same ground, both of them about somebody else's morning going smoothly.
