West of Benton Harbor the dunes at Jean Klock Park take the wind off the water, and the beach grass leans east all summer long. Lake Michigan Landscapes works the lawns that live in that same air: mowing, trimming, edging and seasonal yard cleanups, spring through the last cut of the fall. Sandy ground near the shore dries fast and the breeze never really quits, so turf out here rewards a taller cut and a regular rotation. Morning is the best hour for it — cool, still damp, the light coming clean off the lake. A yard finished before noon on a day like that is hard to improve on.
