Village Green

About Village Green

A village green is an old idea, the one open and well-kept piece of ground a town gathers on, and September is when it looks its finest: heat gone, color deepening, grass growing at a pace it can hold. Village Green brings that standard to yards around Bay City and out through Auburn, Williams Township and Munger, mowing on a set schedule, trimming close, edging where the lawn meets the drive. Fall comes in from the northwest here and drops leaves in a hurry, so cleanups run before the grass suffocates under them. Spring opens the same way in reverse, raking out the winter, taking the first cut, letting the color find its way back. A lawn kept steadily starts to feel like common ground.
