About Red Arrow Outdoor Solutions

When the wind sets up off Lake Michigan, snow comes across Van Buren County in bands and the old Red Arrow route disappears one mile at a time. Red Arrow Outdoor Solutions runs its winter rounds through weather like that — plowing drives and lots in Antwerp Township, shoveling steps and walkways, laying salt on the slick places that form and reform all night long. Lake-effect does not fall once and finish; it circles back, so the trucks do too. There is a particular satisfaction in the first pass at daybreak, headlights swinging across an untouched lot, and in leaving it bare and squared off at the corners. Winter here asks for persistence more than anything else.
