North of Ann Arbor the wind comes down off Whitmore Lake with nothing standing in its way, and a January morning up there can rearrange a driveway twice before noon. JAWS Lawn and Snow plows straight through it — drives opened, walks and steps shoveled, salt laid where the refreeze always begins. In the growing months the same properties get the weekly mow, the trim, a clean edge along every drive, and the cleanups that open spring and close out fall. Lots on the north side run big and the wind is a constant collaborator, so finishing a job properly is largely a matter of anticipating it. Either season, the measure stays simple: can you get out, and does it look right when you do.
