November on Hubbard Lake is the in-between month: docks pulled, cottages shuttered, the water gone black and the first flakes trying the air without committing to it. NJ Services works right through that seam, finishing the last mowings and fall cleanups on one end and hanging the plow on the other. Winter brings driveway and lot clearing, walkway shoveling and ice control; summer brings the steady mow, trim and edge that keeps a yard in hand. Out here those two jobs are really one job — keeping a property usable no matter what the sky is doing to it. The reward is small and constant: a lane you can drive and a yard you can walk across.
