Late August on the Ossineke shore has a particular smell to it — warm cedar, cooling water, the first hint that the season is packing up. J&H yard care/products and services works the south end of the county and the streets of Alpena alike, mowing and trimming while the grass still means it, edging drives, and clearing the yard down to bare ground before the freeze arrives. Then the trucks change over and those same properties get plowed: driveways opened, walkways shoveled, lots pushed clear for the morning. A yard handled by one outfit all year holds together better than one handed around. It is good to see the whole cycle through on the same piece of ground.
