Hartmans Junk Yard

About Hartmans Junk Yard

Out in the Thumb the land around Akron lies flat and worked — beet and bean ground running right up to the edge of town, and a wind that has nothing to slow it down. Hartmans Junk Yard keeps lawns in that open country trimmed and even: mowing on a regular week, string trimming along fences and outbuildings, edging the walks and drives, and clearing the beds when summer growth gets ahead of itself. The season opens with the winter's litter raked clear and closes with the leaves off the yard before the first hard freeze pins them down. On a flat horizon, a well-cut lawn reads from a long way off. Akron and the towns nearby.
