By June the road out toward Deepwater Point is all green shade and glimpses of blue, and Acme Township looks the way people picture northern Michigan. Lions Lane spends the season in those yards — mowing on a rhythm, edging the walks, keeping beds clear so the plantings get their moment. The resort tower stands over the flats like a mile marker, and the lawns beneath it run right down toward the bay. Fall cleanup has its own reward here: hauling leaves off until the turf shows even and clean again. Good grass, cut right, in a place worth looking at.
