About Turner's Lawn Service

Late August in Winslow, and the light coming off the Kennebec turns the old mill flats and the yards along Route 137 the color of weak tea. Turner's Lawn Service is out in it — mowing, edging, trimming around fence lines and foundations, mulching beds, hauling brush and leaves once the season turns. The end of a hot day's work smells like cut grass and warm two-stroke, and the lawns behind the truck are all lined up straight. Fall arrives fast on this side of the river; the cleanups start before anyone is quite ready. But an autumn lawn put to bed properly comes back in May looking like it was waiting for you.
