About Arbor Technologies

The wind that comes over Mayflower Hill in January arrives ahead of the snow, and by the time the storm is really going the route is already half-turned. Arbor Technologies works Waterville's winter — plowing driveways and parking lots, opening walkways and steps by hand, and putting down salt and sand where the cold glazes everything over after midnight. Nothing about it is glamorous; it is headlights, a heater, and a windshield full of white. The reward comes at six in the morning, when a driveway is a clean rectangle of pavement and nobody has to be late. Storms get answered here in Waterville and across to Winslow, Oakland and Benton.
