Washington is ponds and woodroads and long driveways that wander in off Route 220 before they ever find a house. That is country where you want somebody who can handle both halves of the year, and Greg the GO-TO Guy plows the winter and mows the summer — snow cleared and walks opened when it piles up, grass cut, edges trimmed, cleanups spring and fall. The camps around Washington Pond wake up muddy in April and need a hand getting the winter's litter off the lawn; by June those same yards run green right down to the water. In January the job is simpler and colder: get the drive open, get sand on the slick spot, give the mail carrier a place to stop. A town this rural runs on people who show up.
