Thomaston's Main Street runs a straight line of white sea-captains' houses under old shade trees, and on a July morning the whole row smells of cut grass by nine o'clock. Guite Property Services keeps those dooryards and the ones on the side streets behind them — mowing, trimming, edging, spring and fall cleanups. Working around granite steps, iron fences and roots older than the road is slower going than open lawn, and it wants a lighter touch. The result is a village street that looks the way it was meant to look. Thomaston has earned that, and it is a pleasure to help hold it there.
