Route 131 runs the whole length of the St. George peninsula, and every mile of it is front lawns, rugosa hedges and grass sloping away toward salt water. Benner's Tree Services cuts those yards from the first real green in May until the growth gives out in October — mowing, working the trimmer around granite posts and fence lines, opening the beds in spring and clearing leaves in fall. Around Tenants Harbor and Wiley's Corner the tree shade means half a lawn is still wet hours after the other half has dried, so the route follows the sun rather than the map.
