About Rocky Hill Services

Powderhouse Hill is what this town does with winter — a short steep pitch, sledding until dark, and everybody's headlights climbing home afterward. Rocky Hill Services handles the less festive side of the same weather: plowing driveways and turnarounds, above all the ones with a grade that turns treacherous the instant the surface glazes, shoveling steps and walks, sanding where slope and shade conspire. The trick on a hill road is timing — clear it early enough that the snow never packs into ice, then come back once the storm has finished with the place. A steep drive opened to bare surface before the sun tops the ridge is a genuinely good piece of work. February in South Berwick asks for it again and again.
