About York Earthworks

Squalls cross the open lake before they reach Sebago, and they arrive loaded — a wall of white coming up over the Northwest River with the road gone in a blink. York Earthworks works those hours, plowing through the night while the storm is still writing itself, clearing drives and turnarounds, then going back at four in the morning for the second push so nobody wakes to a mountain at the end of the driveway. Sand goes on the north-facing bends that hold ice past noon. By sunrise the pavement out toward Sebago Center is dark, the banks stand well back off the road, and the only trace of the night is a truck heading home with its beacon off. Snow removal is a quiet trade — done right, it looks like nothing happened at all.
