The Swift River lives up to its name in Roxbury, tumbling over ledge beside Route 17 as the hills close in on either side of the valley. T and C Handyman Services serves this narrow green valley with mowing, string trimming and general yard upkeep between the river and the ridges. Summer here comes on fast and lush, and after a warm July rain the grass along the valley floor seems to double overnight. Cutting it back to an even carpet, with the trimmer tracing the stone wall and the driveway's edge, leaves a camp or a year-round home looking cared for and ready. Afterward there is just enough daylight to wander down to Ellis Pond and watch the evening go still on the water.
