About JB Taisey Transport & Excavation

Winter comes to Pownal quietly at first — a whitening in the hemlocks along the back roads, then all at once across the open ground below Bradbury Mountain. JB Taisey Transport & Excavation handles snow removal here, in a town where a driveway can run a quarter mile through the woods before it ever finds a house. The work happens in the dark, headlights swinging through the falling flakes, so that when the kitchen light finally comes on the way out is already open. There is real satisfaction in a clean pass: the gravel shoulder found, the turnaround wide enough to swing a truck, no ridge left across the mouth of the road. Pownal is a place of long lanes and early risers, and the plowing is timed to both.
