About The Helpful Neighbors llc

North Penobscot is unorganized territory: no town office, no village green, just the townships of northern Penobscot County running off into spruce, fir and gravel logging roads. Out here the name The Helpful Neighbors llc means something, because when the next house may sit a long way down the road, help with the yard is help that counts. The business keeps lawns mowed and clearings tidy through the brief, bright northern summer, when the black flies finally ease and grass shoots up in the long July light. Mowing a homestead's grounds back from the woods keeps the forest at a respectful distance. Driving out on a dusty road afterward, you can see the cut clearing glow green against the dark trees.
