About Central maine stoneworks

Dig anywhere around Newport and you meet what the old farmers met — granite left where the ice dropped it, still surfacing in the fields every spring. Central maine stoneworks keeps that in mind on the lawn side of the work: mowing, trimming, edging, mulch laid in tight so the line between bed and grass reads as sharp as a set stone. Cleanups come at both ends of the year, the wet mat of leaves in April and the long gold drift in October. A yard is a small piece of built landscape and it wants the same eye as anything else — level, square, finished at the edges. Newport supplies the material; the rest is attention.
