About Amorphous Studio Landscape Architecture and Planning

Somes Sound cuts a long blue seam into the middle of the island, and the lawns above Sargent Drive step down toward it in green terraces. Amorphous Studio Landscape Architecture and Planning keeps those Mount Desert grounds mowed, trimmed and edged, so the shape of a place reads clearly from the water and from the door. Grass here grows on a cool maritime clock — slow through fog, quick after a warm rain — and the mowing follows it rather than the calendar. There is real satisfaction in the last pass of the afternoon, when the stripes line up with the shore and the clippings are gone. Come fall the leaves come off the ledge in one gusty week, and they are cleared away before frost sets them down for good.
