Three in the morning, Route 4 empty, headlights and falling snow and not much else. ZNPlowing works those hours so the rest of Livermore Falls does not have to. Driveways on the hill streets, turnarounds tight against a garage door, walkways down to the step — cleared, then cleared again when a storm catches its second wind. Snow arriving off the western mountains lands wet and heavy here, and it has never once waited for morning. The best part of the job is the drive home through a town that will wake up able to leave.
