Evergreene Earthworks

About Evergreene Earthworks

On a July evening in Linneus the sun sets late over Drews Lake, and swallows skim low across water gone still as glass. This is farm and forest country in southern Aroostook, with long roads running between open fields and dark spruce. Evergreene Earthworks does lawn care here, mowing and trimming the yards that sit among those fields and along the lakeshore. In these northern summers the grass makes up for a late spring by growing fast, and a newly cut lawn under that lingering light looks almost gilded. Mowed close and clean at the edges, a Linneus yard becomes the place to watch the sky go pink over the water.
