About Trunks to Stumps, LLC

Storms give this valley a little warning: the wind shifts off No Name Pond, the sky turns the color of pewter, and by suppertime Lewiston is under it. Trunks to Stumps, LLC works that long night — plowing driveways and lots, breaking open the ridge the city plow leaves across the end of a drive, shoveling steps and paths, and spreading salt and sand where the ice sets up hardest. February in Androscoggin County can stack storm on storm until the banks stand shoulder-high, and the job is simply to keep coming back until the ground shows again. There is pride in a driveway scraped to the pavement while everything around it is still buried. Snow is the whole of the work here, and it gets the whole of the attention.
