April in Lewiston smells like wet sand and thawing turf, and the whole city seems to exhale at once. Lapointe's Lawn & Garden Center works that ground directly too — mowing, trimming, edging and cleanups from the first green through leaf-drop, then plowing and shoveling when the cold circles back. There is a rhythm to a growing town this far north: everything happens fast, so it has to happen on time. A raked, cut, edged yard in May and a cleared drive in February come from the same instinct to keep a place ready for whoever needs to walk across it. Between those two, that is the shape of the Lewiston year.
