Saturday morning in Little Canada, triple-deckers shoulder to shoulder and dooryards not much bigger than a blanket. Labonte's Landscaping cuts the small ones with as much attention as the wide ones — mowing, trimming, edging, spring raking and fall leaf work. Tight yards are their own craft: no room for a wide deck, so it becomes careful lines around the fence posts, the steps, the lilac by the porch. Finished right, a narrow strip of grass between two old houses looks deliberate, trimmed close and swept out to the sidewalk. In this part of Lewiston, that reads as respect for the house itself.
