About Beaulieu Industries

At three in the morning the Great Falls are the only thing in Lewiston still making noise, black water shouldering past its own ice. Beaulieu Industries is out by then, plowing driveways and lots, clearing walks, laying sand and salt where the cold has glazed things over. The satisfaction lives in the last pass — banks squared off, blacktop showing dark and wet, nothing left for anyone to finish by hand. By the hour the streetlights start to look unnecessary, the routes are done. The city wakes to work that was already over before it opened its eyes.
