About Hidden Meadow Services, LLC.

Everything on Islesboro arrives by boat, mowers included, and the day is measured by the ferry running out of Lincolnville Beach and back past the light at Grindle Point. Hidden Meadow Services, LLC. works to that clock — lawns down the length of the island, from the town landing to Dark Harbor and the lanes around Pripet, cut and trimmed between crossings. Island grass grows in salt air under spruce shade, edged by rugosa and stone, and it wants a careful hand rather than a hurried one. Spring here starts late and holds cool; autumn ends with cleanups done before the summer places close and the wind turns hard across Penobscot Bay. There is real contentment in a green lawn kept tidy with the bay glinting just beyond it.
