Subzero Snow Pushers

About Subzero Snow Pushers

There is an hour around four in the morning when Hermon goes truly still and the thermometer reads a number you do not say out loud. Subzero Snow Pushers is out in it — plow down, sander running, working driveways and lots while the snow squeaks under the tires. The work is honest and plain: open the drive, clear the walk, clean the apron at the road so the town plow's wing does not undo the whole thing. By sunrise the fields toward Hermon Pond turn pink and every property on the route is set for a normal day. Nobody sees the night shift, which is exactly how it should be.
