About J. Ciarfella Property Maintenance & General Contracting

Harpswell is a handful of long fingers reaching into Casco Bay, saltwater on both sides of the road, with the cribstone bridge out to Bailey Island letting the tide run right through it. Winter on a peninsula is its own animal: wind with nothing to slow it down, snow that lands wet and turns to ice by evening. J. Ciarfella Property Maintenance & General Contracting plows and shovels through it — driveways, walkways, sanded steps, one storm after another down the length of the point. Out here an open drive is not a convenience, it is how people get in and out. The good part is the quiet afterward, everything cleared, the bay flat and steel-colored past the trees.
